Our Saturday

Well, we had a change of plans for Saturday and we ended up going to the Dragon Con parade rather than the Children’s Parade at the Book Festival. It was a lot of fun (more than I thought it would be) and EXTREMELY interesting. Colin kept yelling “Yay!” and “Woo hoo!”

Then, after lunch at Ted’s we went across the street to Centennial Park and let Colin play in the fountains. Ten minutes after we got there they kicked everyone out of the fountain because they were going to have the water show. Try telling a Toddler who LOVES the water, that he can’t play in the water that is dancing to music when he was just in the dancing water. Not fun. We decided to head home and then we all took a nap.

Uh oh…

I was debating with someone this morning about Barack Obama’s healthcare plan and obviously not paying enough attention to Colin, who decided to take matters into his own hands…

Splish! Splash! I was taking a bath!

We bought Colin a new toy for the bath today. He LOVES it! It’s a really cool tug boat with fish, an octopus, a captain and a fishing rod. So cute! He got frustrated towards the end (as you can see) partly because he was really tired and partly because it was hard to put the fish hook around the tale of the fish.

Conversations with an almost 21 month old.

Colin: (knock, knock) Hi! (he opens the shower curtain after somehow managing to open the door to the bathroom)

Mommy: Hi!

Colin: Shaw? (translation: shower) Ooooo! (he reaches to touch the water) Hot!

Mommy: How’d you get the door open?

Colin: Out?

Mommy: I’ll be out in a minute.

Colin: Mi-ut (translation: minute)

Mommy: Yup, minute.

Colin: Bye. (he halfway closes the shower curtain back and then slams the door behind him)

Blowing kisses!!

Playtime

Colin played in his “house” while I cooked dinner. He was babbling to himself and I went in the playroom to see what he was doing. Colin was putting pieces of mail into the mailbox and then taking them out and putting them back in. He’d crawl through the doorway and then open the mailbox from the other side. He was so engrossed in play that he didn’t notice as I took a bunch of pictures of him. When he finally did notice me, he crawled out of his house and said “Hi!”
