22 Weeks

I’ve been a little lax with the belly shots lately. I came down with bronchitis and the last thing that I wanted was to have my picture taken. I’ll try to be better from now on. This pregnancy is still pretty hard, but I do have the reward of feeling Owen kick many times a day. Morning sickness is still going on, close to every other day…all day. It’s no fun, but at least I can keep some food down. Lately I’ve been craving sour, chewy candy like the Sour Bright Crawlers and Sour Patch Straws – you know, those awful things you ate as a kid? Well, I can’t get enough of them!! I go to the doctor on the 9th and I have another ultrasound, so I’ll post more pictures of Owen then!

Colinisms

Colin leaned on John’s shoulder tonight and said “Daddy, I miss you.”

Potty Training: Day 2

And the fun continues…NOT!

Day 2 went very much the same as Day 1, except this time he peed just on the floor, not on the dining room chair. I guess that’s an upside. I don’t think that Colin understands yet that the urge to pee is controllable. I tried putting him on the Big Potty as well as both of his Little Potties and still no dice. I even put cereal in the Bit Potty for him to aim for and the only reaction I got was “Mommy, crazy?”

I’ve decided that he’s not ready to be potty trained yet. I’m hanging up the Big Boy Undies and the Little Potties for a couple of months just to see if we can peek his interest another way. We’re going to watch Elmo’s Potty Time and read books, like Everybody Poops. We’ll see what happens!

Potty Training: Day 1

I started my mission yesterday evening by pumping Colin up to get him excited about his Big Boy Undies and going peepee in the potty. He seemed amped about it at the time. This morning when he woke up was another story. I brought out the potty and put him in his Big Boy Undies and explained that when he has to go potty he needs to tell me so he can go on the potty like a Big Boy. He says to me, “No. I no peepee potty yet.” Great, just great.

My goal is to get him potty trained before the new baby comes (just in time for him to revert back to diapers because of the huge change in his life), but I’m not entirely sure he’s ready. I don’t want to push, I just want to give him the opportunity to get potty trained if he’s ready.

Three accidents, four pairs of Big Boy Undies and a wet dining room chair later, Colin still hasn’t peed on the potty. I’m going to give it two more days and see what happens. If there’s still no interest then I’ll put the Big Boy Undies and the potty chairs away for a few months and then try again.
